Because.....

Right, well apologies for not making this sooner, things have been a bit manic recently. Firstly to give a quick catch up on the pictures shown previously.

My opening picture I took whilst mountain biking in the Swiss Alps, the cyclist shown in the picture is my granddad believe it or not, this was the day we cycled to a memorial where during world war two an American bomber managed to crash land and save all of the crew. It just so happens that this memorial is the perfect place to get a decent shot of MT blanc, however the visibility was too poor to get a decent shot due to the heat haze. Admittedly this picture wasn’t taken originally in black and white, the original colour version itself was too over exposed and to get a decent balance of shadows whilst applying the black and white in light room was very difficult, however i am not too displeased with the outcome.

The picture displayed in my previous blog is more of sentimental value to me and my other friend Braden Pearce ( click the link to see his own blogspot and interesting takes on art work and photography). Apple Frost cider to those whom have had it is a rose colour and has to be one of THE nicest ciders I have ever come across, it has a very clean clear sweet crisp taste, the only downside is, I can’t find it anywhere but at a very remote inn located about 900 ft above Bernex. The inn itself is called the Alpage( I’m sure there is some obscure French way of pronouncing it) it is a lovely picturesque traditional French inn, during the summer time I spend out there I would often cycle to this inn just for the cider, however the hill climb is not for the light hearted it takes a good solid 50 minutes on rough terrain and is out of the saddle the whole way.

The picture shown in this blog is of my dad flying a kite. There isn’t much to say about this particular shot i just enjoy this picture. It was taken on the green in Rye, for those who wish to fly kites, don’t attempt it there, even on a windy day the trees shade the green too much and getting the kite in the air is very tedious.

And in the beggining there was.....

Ok so being new to this whole internet publishing social networking peripherals I’m just going to take this as it comes, I’m sure eventually I will get the hang of it. So rather than just starting off in the deep end I thought I would give a quick catch up to events leading up to this day.

Ok so I’m not easily pleased, I’m sure most of my friends or any others that have become acquaintance with me over time will know this to be apparent. ( this is going somewhere) this causes me to always be wanting the next thing, never complacent with what I have, however in terms of hobbies two things I have always loved to do have stuck with me over the past couple of years, these being photography and yes putting on the lycra and settling down in the saddle for a good 40 mile ride at the crack of dawn. Personally I think these two things go well together as hobbies. cycling I find opens up opportunities to seeing things you wouldn't quite see, enabling you to be well ... how to word this without sounding too "hippyish" I guess just more aware of your surroundings. Then of course the camera, able to capture the things you do see, enabling you to never forget even when the mind deteriorates, or just giving an insight into another perspective. ok ok enough of the chit chat, so yeah this blog is not going to be specifically aimed at cycling and photography but I’m sure there will be plenty of it, so for now I’m gonna click the post button below and this will be the start .
