Rum Doings

Ok so the last couple of days i have been staying at a friends house for reasons unknown to mankind!

Now don't get me wrong I'm not an avid alcoholic and i do very rarely drink. mainly due to the fact that it just isn't financially feasible for me to drink due to my size ( I'm 6ft 4 ) it takes a heck of a lot to get me any where near " merry " should i say . Anyway at roughly 1 o'clock in the morning after having hit the galliano and lemon cocktails we had been making we decided to venture out for a midnight snack...... this can only end well.

Well it did believe it or not we not only managed to see a delorean!!! but for some obscure reason there were two lawn mowers lined up in someones drive way . Now i don't know why for whatever reason this may be the owner of these fly-mows had left these lawnmowers out in the driveway ! but TWO ! it was peculiar to say the least. and yes i know you are probably thinking..... this isn't interesting and no its not ! but drink 6 glasses of galliano cocktails ( retail price of 35 sterling at 500 ml a bottle) then this seems all the more interesting. so now you probably think I'm some stuck up posh boy that drinks from mummy 'n' daddies alcohol cabinet from crystal decanters..... well you'd be right ! i joke after having depleted 2 bottles of galliano and researching on where to buy more we stopped drinking it immediately ! i mean 30 pounds ! that's a horrific amount to pay. so we locked the cabinets back up and hoped that no one would notice the dust had moved from the disturbed bottles within. cue the cider drinking.

Do take note however. I do strongly recommend that at least once in your lifetime you save up buy a bottle of galliano and slip into a tweed dressing gown and slippers pour yourself a glass of 2/3 galliano 1/3 lemon juice on the rocks, slide into your wing backed leather chair, spark up the pipe and enjoy a moment of pure tranquility and i promise you every moment of that drink will be remembered. so to all you proles out there. if ever you aspire to find out what a taste of the Bourgeoisie may taste like. Now you know how, however you may have to remortgage your dog kennel take out a 3rd job to afford to do so. well if you cant do that then just add it to Jacqui Smith’s expenses I'm sure the tax payers wont mind... i know i certainly wont.

Rozzers

Well yes it has been a while, many apologies for those few that follow me, I promise you all I will try and keep these more frequent, but hey I'm not here to moan about my personal life and troll away at why I haven't been able to provide reading material for my avid followers.

OK so today I will talk about this picture, recently I rode in Richmond park , now it having been the first time I have ridden there I was UN-aware there was any speed limit in this park ( yes I somehow managed to miss the bright yellow road marking 20MPH and the sign post every 100 yards) but that's not the point. Now by law there is no speed limit on the road for a cyclist, "gasps" !!!!! yes we can speed , however we can be prosecuted for endangerment to others on the road as I found out. So back to the Richmond park bit. Along a flat I decided to tuck up on the drops of my bianchi and sprint away from my group, doing so meant I had to overtake 3 cars one of which was a police car. Sorry officer I was doing 40mph. Now don't get me wrong when the diesel zafira came roaring past with the blues and twos telling me to pull over I didn't argue whatever it was they were accusing me of ( yes for fear of prosecution) so I apologized and explained that it was my first time riding in the park, surprise surprise they didn't buy it, they very reluctantly sent me on my way

So for now I have managed to avoid prosecution for endangering others.....apparently I might hit a deer.....

Because.....

Right, well apologies for not making this sooner, things have been a bit manic recently. Firstly to give a quick catch up on the pictures shown previously.

My opening picture I took whilst mountain biking in the Swiss Alps, the cyclist shown in the picture is my granddad believe it or not, this was the day we cycled to a memorial where during world war two an American bomber managed to crash land and save all of the crew. It just so happens that this memorial is the perfect place to get a decent shot of MT blanc, however the visibility was too poor to get a decent shot due to the heat haze. Admittedly this picture wasn’t taken originally in black and white, the original colour version itself was too over exposed and to get a decent balance of shadows whilst applying the black and white in light room was very difficult, however i am not too displeased with the outcome.

The picture displayed in my previous blog is more of sentimental value to me and my other friend Braden Pearce ( click the link to see his own blogspot and interesting takes on art work and photography). Apple Frost cider to those whom have had it is a rose colour and has to be one of THE nicest ciders I have ever come across, it has a very clean clear sweet crisp taste, the only downside is, I can’t find it anywhere but at a very remote inn located about 900 ft above Bernex. The inn itself is called the Alpage( I’m sure there is some obscure French way of pronouncing it) it is a lovely picturesque traditional French inn, during the summer time I spend out there I would often cycle to this inn just for the cider, however the hill climb is not for the light hearted it takes a good solid 50 minutes on rough terrain and is out of the saddle the whole way.

The picture shown in this blog is of my dad flying a kite. There isn’t much to say about this particular shot i just enjoy this picture. It was taken on the green in Rye, for those who wish to fly kites, don’t attempt it there, even on a windy day the trees shade the green too much and getting the kite in the air is very tedious.

And in the beggining there was.....

Ok so being new to this whole internet publishing social networking peripherals I’m just going to take this as it comes, I’m sure eventually I will get the hang of it. So rather than just starting off in the deep end I thought I would give a quick catch up to events leading up to this day.

Ok so I’m not easily pleased, I’m sure most of my friends or any others that have become acquaintance with me over time will know this to be apparent. ( this is going somewhere) this causes me to always be wanting the next thing, never complacent with what I have, however in terms of hobbies two things I have always loved to do have stuck with me over the past couple of years, these being photography and yes putting on the lycra and settling down in the saddle for a good 40 mile ride at the crack of dawn. Personally I think these two things go well together as hobbies. cycling I find opens up opportunities to seeing things you wouldn't quite see, enabling you to be well ... how to word this without sounding too "hippyish" I guess just more aware of your surroundings. Then of course the camera, able to capture the things you do see, enabling you to never forget even when the mind deteriorates, or just giving an insight into another perspective. ok ok enough of the chit chat, so yeah this blog is not going to be specifically aimed at cycling and photography but I’m sure there will be plenty of it, so for now I’m gonna click the post button below and this will be the start .
